Lots of interesting feelings as we open the shop this year.
First of all, gratitude. Our first order of business was to fulfill two large orders. The first was a large gift order, and the second was our first retail adventure. In all, we’ve crafted 266 candles – but only 116 for our own store!
We’re a little nervous, too. The website is new, and with it comes some new shopping capabilities. Shipping estimates, automated sales tax and credit card purchases are all new to the store this year. You’ll notice a spike in prices… that’s to offset some credit card fees, pay for the website and account for the rising cost of supplies. It’s also to give us strong footing as we enter the retail market. Mark from The Flower Shoppe in Dayton has been gracious and really believes in our product. It’s given us confidence to sell our candles for what they’re worth.
The prints are new this year, too. There may only ever be one or two for sale. Each time one sells, we’ll print a different one from our collection of favorites.
The creative services are new this year, TOO! If you’re interested in creating something (custom candle, custom print, logo, t-shirt…website…) let us know!
ALL that being said, be patient with us as we roll out new fulfillment systems. Everything comes with a slight learning curve for all of us. But we appreciate you!
