Candle Shop and Photo Print Updates

The candle shop isn’t open yet and we’ve already sold 150 candles!

Two big orders have been keeping us busy. One of those I’ll keep secret, because it’s a gift order. I don’t want to ruin the surprise. The other is really exciting – The Flower Shoppe in Dayton ordered a variety of candles to sell in their store this holiday season! We’re looking forward to seeing our candles on a retail shelf for the first time.

As for our own online candle store, we’re aiming to open by Thanksgiving. The new website, our partnership with The Flower Shoppe, accepting credit card transactions and the cost of containers have contributed to higher prices. After fulfilling the two orders above, here’s what we plan to make available:

Vanilla Peppermint, Frosted Juniper, Cranberry Woods, Spiced Cinnamon.

• 13oz white ceramic tumblers with bamboo lids (464 Golden soy wax) – $30 each. We’re only making 105.
• 12oz straight glass jars with smooth plastic lids (464 Golden soy wax) – $20 each. We’re only making 11. A true collector’s item*.

Each year is a little different. This will be the last year for the 8oz straight glass jars because (apparently) we just bought the last smooth plastic 83/400 lids on the planet. The warehouse in Utah is sending us the last ones available before discontinuing the product. I suppose that’s part of the fun. Reinvention keeps it interesting. We’re also testing new labeling for the ceramic jars.

On to other news… PHOTO PRINTS!

I’m likely to keep a few on-demand options in the shop, but I just ordered two large 24x36 prints sell. One is a framed print of a daisy, and the other a framed canvas of purple sage. These are high-quality 400dpi images put to ink. When they arrive, I’ll take pictures and update the print shop. They’re the only ones in existence and they will be stunning. But, they won’t be cheap.

Violet is also begging to sell a few of her artistic creations in the shop as well.

We’ll see :)
